Milling Boring

Milling boring machine, as its name tells, is the machine tool that uses spinning tools to remove material from the work piece. The machining process can be controlled by computer numerical control (CNC) system or manual to advance the tool into one or more work pieces and remove material. Today, such machines are usually controlled by the CNC system, which called CNC boring machine, and the accuracy can be controlled within a very small tolerance range.

The boring and milling machining can be done in different directions, that is, each moving track built on the machine. The number of axes depends on customer needs. Milling boring machine can cover a variety of machining tasks, from a single tiny part to heavy and large-scale milling machining tasks.

CNC boring machine

CNC boring machine is a machine tool that uses spinning tools to enlarge existing drilled holes. The machining process can be controlled by computer numerical control (CNC) system or manual to advance the tool into one or more work pieces and remove material. Today, such machines are usually controlled by the CNC system, which called CNC boring machine, and the accuracy can be controlled within a very small tolerance range. The milling boring machining can be done in different directions, that is, each moving track built on the machine.

CNC milling machine

CNC milling machine is a milling machine with CNC function, which can complete the entire milling process under the control of a computer numerical control system. This type of machine is a highly developed machine tool that can handle multiple mill tasks at once. At first, CNC milling machines were developed from milling machines with enhanced repeatability. Since then, such machine tools have been widely used in various machining fields.

Horizontal and vertical structure

The horizontal milling boring machine is designed with a horizontal alignment structure. This type of machine is a highly developed machine tool. Due to its horizontal rather than vertical arrangement, multiple mill tasks can be handled at once. Horizontal milling boring machines were developed from milling machines with higher flexibility. Since then, this particular type of machine tool has been widely used in various machining fields.

Compared with the former, vertical milling boring machines are designed with a vertical alignment structure. When the type milling machine is equipped with auxiliary accessories such as automatic tool changer (ATC), tool magazine, APC and rotary table, it can handle multiple milling tasks at once. Vertical milling boring machines are developed from milling machines with boring and milling capabilities.

Bridge type milling machine

The bridge milling machine is designed with two column structures, so it is also called double column milling machine. This type of machine is a highly developed machine tool that can handle multiple mill tasks at once. At first, bridge milling machines were developed from milling machines with enhanced cutting rigidity. Since then, such machine tools have been widely used in various machining fields.

Copy milling machine

The copy milling machine is a milling machine, which is processed by advancing the rotary milling cutter into the work piece to remove excess material, so as to achieve the effect of copy processing. The machining process can be completed by changing the direction on one or more axes, cutter head speed and pressure. Copy milling covers a variety of different applications. One of the most common cases is custom part processing.

Knee type milling machine

The knee milling machine is also called "knee-and-column mill", which refers to a milling machine that moves the x-y table up and down through the vertical column on the vertically adjustable knee.

This design also includes bridge ports. Milling is the process of removing material by advancing a rotary cutter into the work piece. The machining process can be completed by changing the direction on one or several axes, cutter head speed and pressure.

Universal milling machine

Universal milling is a machining process that uses a spinning tool to advance into one or more work pieces and remove excess material. This processing method can be done in different directions. In addition to turning, milling also covers a wide variety of applications, from single tiny parts to heavy and large-scale simultaneous milling tasks. Milling can provide very precise tolerances.

Chamfering machine

A chamfering machine is a machine that can cut the transition edge between two faces of an object. Sometimes chamfering is defined as a form of bevel, and it is usually processed at a 45-degree angle between two adjacent right-angled faces.

Chamfers are commonly used in metal processing, carpentry, furniture manufacturing, concrete formwork, printed circuit boards, and contribute to many mechanical engineering designs, thereby making the structure and appearance more perfect.

Conclusion

Today, multi-tasking machines have become main stream because the processing requirements may involve multiple machining tasks like cutting, milling, boring, and grinding operations on the same workpiece. So, how to complete all processing tasks within one working station is to make complex milling machining center. With the powerful processing capabilities of milling boring machines, field operators do not need to move the workpiece from one working table to another, but only need to complete all the work at once.
